Corn was domesticated in 5000 B.C. to 10000 B.C. which was 7000 years ago to 12000 years ago. It was domesticated in central Mexico. It was domesticated by Indian tribes called the Aztecs and the Mayans. It was domesticated because it was a great food source for there diet.
